First Look...

Well my dreams of recording anything more than one song has been halted with the snow. We have however had enough time to make a rough copy of "End Of an Act". I am quite happy with the outcome, its definatly one of the weirdest topics ever address in one of my songs. I Managed to find a real life version of the image that the song was based upon(Seen Above).

Just like to give a special thanks to my volunteer producer Louis Leatherbarrow, for his patience in recording it and mixing.

Global Warming Again...

As the world is hotting up and we are all going to hell, here in Yorkshire were are stuck in the snow. At least my car is up at Louis Leatherbarrows meaning i had to walk 3 miles in the snow. I was however able to finish a recording of "The End of an Act" and although it is unmixed i should be done and i will be able to post it on tinterweb soon.
(I didn't take a photo of it so i had to use one from last year that i found on google)

In recent news i have discovered ( have'nt yet posted anything about it) Sky Ferreira a young musician from LA. She is probably easily placed into a similar category as Uffie and KE$HA with a more electronic take on pop. As an anti-LA-Socalite and a member of Waffles Girls with Killer Personality and Killer songs she looks set for a global take over
.
In other less exciting and extremly geekier news i have moved into the next generation of Operating Systems, making the most of the Student deals with Microsoft getting a copy for only 30 quid.

Recording

Supposing all goes well (Which it never does) i should be able to start work on recording some new songs specially since i need a track for the Harrogate Underground Cd.

Family Studio's

New song has been recorded by Aaron Ells a.k.a Luke Elliott featuring myself with some vocals although not fully mastered it has been premiered at the Mish Mash night Zoo in the Cut.

However it hasn't been posted to the tinterweb yet and for that reason i am unable to give you a demo however when it has its going straight on here.

In other news i just got back from university to fit into the steady flow of country life, unfortunately for me and my friends the old problems of living in Pateley Bridge present themselves "So, What are we going to do ?". I am planning some studio time later this week with Louis Leatherbarrow recording some of my new material with the possibility of musical backing by Rosie(the Band).

Working Week

Since i finished my Assignment i felt i was in need of a break, and i picked the best week for it. My flat mates Alex Cornforth and Luke Elliot had lined up quite a few gigs for this week, Including playing at a House Party at our friend Tom Kirkby Eviction party, The Events have been as such:

COSMIC - RUB A DUB DUB

Advertised as a Foam party for that week we avoided the downstairs as best we could as to avoid getting wet and stinking. We stayed behind the booth for a little bit down stairs eagerly awaiting Alex and Luke's turn to play upstairs, when the time came we were not disappointed. The music was just right for the location and the atmosphere was brilliant, all in all a pretty Successful night.

HOUSE PARTY

Tom Kirkby our friend down our street had a bit of shit luck recently. There daft as shit landlord had not being paying his mortgage, and as such was forced to sell the house. This meant that they were to be evicted but not without a final blowout. Invitations had been sent all round and a fair few people came, for the party with Dj Performances from:
-Placca Tom,
-Alex Cornforth and Luke Elliot

-Jay Decibel Fontaine
The night was set out to be pretty sleek but as with all good parties whiney ass neighbours get involved, this lead to a police visit and a group of us rushing out the backdoor with all the sound equipment. Luckily we had a contingency plan and the party was relocated else where and it carried on till about 4:00 when we had to rush all the Gear out again before settling down for a good kip.

ZOO

Normal Mish Mash Zoo night only featuring Official Creep DJs followed by Jay Decibel Fontaine. With what was the most successful Zoo so far and Alex and Luke played a flawless set, followed by amazing performances from the other Djs the crowd were gutted when the night came to and end, The bouncers desperatly trying to shut it down over the crowd chanting "One more Tune". We also met a celebrity upon leaving the club Ben the Apprentice's official douche decided to get aggressive as no one would lend him a cigarette, unlucky for him the Tool Bag got ROAD HOUSED by all of us,
To be fair to him he is an "alright LAD"...

INDEPENDENT-SUNDERLAND

After hearing a mix Luke had submitted to MediaFire some Sunderland hotshot decided to hire them for his "BIG" night. We headed off to Sunderland with the promise of free drinks(Something i couldn't participate as i was the designated driver). Upon arriving there we realised it was'nt quite a big deal as he had made out, and the free drinks were a crate of Strongbow. All was not lost as Alex and Luke were able to have a no pressure Dj set and dropped in some more comedic songs such as "Crazy Rap - Afro Man","Killing in the Name Of - Rage " and " Roxanne - The Police". After Taxing the 30 beers, Alex Davie moved on to the Jager, that some idiot had left in the booth.Luke, Amar and the Alexs polished off quickly. After what was a quite funny night we headed home for a good night sleep.

KRASH

Finish it off an old friend visted us from Sheffield so we went to Krash @ Venue for the evening not allot to report just a typical Krash:
-Rock Music,
-Alternative looking people,
-Drinking

Belle & Herb

Amongst the attempts at doing the latest batch of my coursework assignments, i decided to take a morning off with a long awaited meal. After hearing nothing but good things about the GIANT meals at Belle and Herb in Newcastle, we(my flat) decided to pay it a long overdue visit.

Needless to say the food was amazing(and not just for a students tounge), although our choice of meal i felt clashed with the interior as i always associate a big breakfast with some greasy cafeteria or roadside restaurant, as opposed to Belle and Herbs Bohemian Cafe styled interior( not to say this was a negative experience ). All in all good food, good place, good morning .

COLD

Its REALLY COLD, here yet we refuse to put any heaters
on(money over comfort). Life has proceeded with very little occurrence on Deucher Street hence the lack of Blog updates. The Movember attempt has failed as everyone else has had a shave, and i am about to follow suit.

Unfortunately the work has started to pile up and the course has got allot harder, and as such my work effort is gonna have to take a heavier pace. however not all news is bad news as our house we have allot of plans in the work including a possible club night in London for this summer and i am optimistic that fun times are ahead.

Pork Pies, Mushrooms and New Acquisitions

Had a pretty busy time since i last put something up here Creep went well and pretty hitch proof.

I was sporting a 2k tee courtesy of Electric Press and our friend Amar Dehal.
As i was back in the home county or near enough
anyway, i decided to stop back and the good old homestead
in Wilsill to pick up some personal effects that i had forgotten
to bring the first time up. We were so close to Pateley Bridge i thought i would treat my flat mates to the wonders of Kendals Butchers and there amazing selection of Pork Pies. Afterwards we explored the lovely Yorkshire countryside up near Yorkes Folley. Finally a rushed drive back to Newcastle however not getting back on schedule and making Damyan miss all of his Lectures (Shitters).
Next up i had a few days of rest which i still haven't quite recovered from thanks to some idiot locked out of her house.

I went to the Baltic today as my Dad was on a day trip to see the Martin Parr exhibition.
On the way out i stopped off at the gift store in which i got a few finds which i couldn't resist. First off was a Screen print by a group called Seripop found myself an Amazing Poster Print. Also i found the original comics that the Moomins cartoon series was originally based on, doesn't sound very cool but the animation in it is fantastic(or at least purchase worthy).

Los Campesinos!

Los Campesinos! upbeat melodic sounds did not disappoint in basement 2 of Newcastle Union tonight. The small sized basement of the Newcastle Union provided an ideal venue for an extremely intimate performance on top of amazing sound quality from the uni sound team
(Big thanks to James for getting us on guest list).

I was lucky to find a perch where i could see the whole band and not get ridiculously sweaty and cramped in the crowd, it looked pretty rough considering the size of the crowd and they went mental for various Los Camp favourites. All in all an amazing night that has left me unable to get there songs out my head.

1. to defer action; delay: to procrastinate until an opportunity is lost.

Hopefully not to that extent that the definition, but i have had loads of distractions to make me avoid doing work(including this Blog).

Still i had a good night last night Shisha and Guy Ritchie films. Then a guitar and chill session with Alex Davie and LukeElliot.

NO SLEEP... IT AFFECTS MY MOOD

No Sleep last night ... meant that i had to make up for it in my first two lectures.
I had to make sure i was wired on coffee so able to concentrate...
really need to start on work but this blog is very distracting.

I got a little bored inbetween naps, and resorted to stumbling to get my kicks...
resorted in me finding the four yorkshire man video.

Next up is a lovely rendition of backstreet boys by my good friend Alex Davie:
